Nefertiti W. Steward, is the former owner of two local book stores in the Metropolitan Detroit area. She is the first black woman to operate and risk a book store business in a mall, in Michigan. She first established Truth Book Store, December 1994 in Northland Mall, Southfield, Michigan. She eventually moved to a location in the mall expanding to three times its original size.
